Twelve years ago, two lives changed forever with a simple meeting at a local bar in New York. What started as just another night out with friends quickly turned into a love story for the ages. We went from classic friends, to best friends, to husbands, and now, we’re not just partners in life—we’re partners in business too.
After years of building our relationship and marriage, we decided it was time to chase our dreams. So, we packed our bags, left New York behind, and set off for sunny California. Like everyone else, COVID came along and shook up our lives, making us rethink everything.
Dru had just stepped away from the banking world and enrolled in school, eager to find his niche. Meanwhile, Ely—after working more jobs than he can count and tired of the 9-5 grind—was ready to take the leap and work for himself. But what kind of business? That was the big question.
One night, as we were sipping wine, smoking a blunt and chatting on the couch, Dru casually said, “What if i did butts??” And he replied, “Like a booty facial?” That got us thinking, so when we did the research and noticed something surprising…nobody in LA is doing booty facials! So we saw the opportunity and ran straight ahead! Dru brought the “Booty”, Ely brought the “Boss”, and together, we created a male grooming company called BootyBossLA!
At BootyBossLA, we specialize in everything from our classic booty facials, waxing, manscaping and more. But beyond the services, we’re here to offer a space where the LGBTQ+ and queer community can shine. Because self-care isn’t just about looking good—it’s about feeling confident, empowered, and celebrated.
